Women and Law in Southern Africa Research Trust is an action oriented research organization in seven countries of Southern Africa: Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

 
MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to contribute to the sustained well-being of women within families and societies, specifically within the Southern African countries of Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This is achieved through (a) collaborative strategic and action research in the socio-legal field and (b) promoting of lobbying for legal reforms and policy changes on laws and practices that disadvantage women.

About WLSA

WLSA traces its origins to a workshop held in 1988 in Zimbabwe which brought scholars and activists from the Southern African Sub-Continent to discuss the legal situation of women. Click to read more.
